Biography of Principle Consultant
 
Mark Montrose-EMC Consultant
Mark Montrose is principle consultant of Montrose Compliance Services, Inc., a full service professional consulting company specializing in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and product safety.  
 
 
Prior to becoming a consultant, Mark was responsible for regulatory compliance at high-technology companies in California as both an engineer and manager. With nearly thirty years of experience, he is a low-cost solution provider related to system design, product, manufacturing and component engineering. Work expertise includes design, test and certification for: Information Technology Equipment (ITE); Industrial, Scientific and Medical equipment (ISM); and military products with a specialty in the international arena, especially the European EMC Directive.
 
Recent activities of significance includes joining Underwriters Laboratories as an instructor for "UL Knowledge Services" (a.k.a. UL University) teaching courses on EMC. In addition, Mark particpates as an Expert Witness related to EMC and engineering litigation.
 
Mark graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California, with both a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He completed a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Santa Clara, Santa Clara, California.

A European accreditation firm (U.K.) assesses Montrose Compliance Services, Inc. annually to ISO 17025. This assessment ensures those wishing to achieve conformity to the European EMC Directive will have all work performed by a professional with expertise in consulting and testing. He specializes in writing Technical Files and is also an iNARTE Master EMC Design Engineer and Accredited Test Laboratory for in situ EMC testing of industrial products.
Mark has authored and presented numerous technical papers and textbooks on printed circuit board design, theory, and layout related to EMC and signal integrity at IEEE International EMC Symposiums and Colloquiums worldwide, as well as other topics on EMC. He frequently speaks at EMC conferences around the world. In addition he is an instructor for the University of California Santa Cruz Extension Program as well as for EEM Advancement Center Pte. Ltd. (Singapore and Malaysia).
